What is a Hawk

A hawk is a raptor or bird of prey that uses its powerful talons to grasp and kill its prey by stabbing repeatedly into the vital organs. Hawks are opportunistic hunters that use their acute eyesight to spot prey that is vulnerable, weak or struggling. Different hawks use different hunting techniques to catch their prey, but their feathers are softer than the feathers of a falcon to allow them to subdue their prey on the ground.
